Last week we released the twenty-first in our series of ground-breaking Abstrakt beers. The week before we brought you two chili-fuelled newcomers in the shape of Neon Overlord and Chili Hammer. So if you’d expect us to rest on our laurels this week, you’d be…wrong. We have two more releases to swell your beer cupboard stocks – a couple of beers to help take the edge off the fact that summer has gone and cold is creeping in around the edges of the days.

Our latest Born to Die and Candy Kaiser are out now.

Born to Die 04/11/2016

This first release clings to life as earnestly as it does the memory of summer. Born to Die raises our level of whirlpool and dry-hopping to new levels, with the intention of laying down an enormous hit of fresh citrus and pine from the Simcoe, Amarillo, Citra and Mosaic hops. This 8.5% Imperial IPA is a beer to remind you of long lost summer evenings – harnessing the fragile hop oils before they are gone forever, it is a reminder to seize the moment.

Born to Die is brewing set against the clock. Inspired by the amazing ‘Enjoy By…’ series of beers from our friends at Stone Brewing, this release is defined by the expiry date emblazoned on the label. With only a short window of opportunity, we ensure that the freshness of the hop flavours are at their aromatic best, giving you the ultimate chance to experience the ephemeral nature of the high peaks of hops before they – like everything else – inevitably fade away.

Also hitting the online shop today is our final BrewDog Seasonal release for the year. Following on the heels of our resinous Black IPA Arcade Nation, the tropical blast of Hop Fiction and the hop-forward saison Electric India we have a beer to enjoy when the shadows have become all the more time-consuming. Candy Kaiser is our Northern German retro Altbier – a BrewDog take on one of the formative styles of European brewing – and it is a celebration of the art of the maltster.

Brewed with a timeless blend of Pale, Carafa and Munich malt, Candy Kaiser has a rich and warming flavour that brings intense layers of caramel, fudge, dark fruit and toasty bread. Added into this we have two classic German hop varietals in Magnum and Hersbrucker before lagering the beer brewed with ale yeast, as is the tradition. Our seasonal for October to December is out now, ready to bookend your beer drinking right the way to Christmas.

Both of these beers are live in our online shop right now and will be in our UK bars on draft from 6pm tonight, Thursday 29th September. If you get a chance to sample either – or both – in your local BrewDog bar, be sure and leave your thoughts as ever in the comments below!
