OUT NOW: DIY DOG THE BOOK

OUT NOW: DIY DOG THE BOOK

There is no other industry with a stepping stone like homebrewing. Thousands of breweries around the world are fired up each morning by men and women who honed their craft in their garages or kitchens (ours included). Homebrewing is the perfect backdrop, learning curve and springboard, and it is why last year we released the recipe to every single beer we had ever made – to give something back to the global homebrew community who have supported us since day one.

But we want to spread the love of homebrewing to even more people.

That’s why we have gathered together all 262 ready-to-follow BrewDog recipes in one brand new BrewDog book – and you can get your hop-encrusted hands on it here.

Brewing is about many things – innovation, repetition, excitement, cleaning. But also what you experience during the cut and thrust of a brewday. It wouldn’t be the same without the smell of hops, the sound of the boiler sparking into life, and the feeling of malt running through the fingers. This DIY Dog Book embraces the tactile nature of brewing – it is a logbook and ledger to get dirty, to spill beer on and (above all) to write notes in as you recreate our beers of old.

A decade in the making, DIY Dog was the summation of our desire to pass on all that we have learned, brought into focus as we celebrate our tenth anniversary of brewing. From Martin’s Mum’s garage to our Ellon brewhouse and beyond, we believe companies who refuse to reveal their secrets are doomed to failure – giving the people who enjoy what you do the chance to discover everything for themselves is how things should be. So DIY Dog is the keys to our kingdom.

The DIY Dog Book features every recipe from original Punk IPA to our recent collaborative New England IPA we brewed with Cloudwater. All of our beers brewed in Fraserburgh and Ellon, in one hardback compendium. Jack Hammer, Tactical Nuclear Penguin and Anarchist Alchemist. Every conceivable style for you to have a go at; hundreds of prospective brewdays laid out in black and white. Just add malt, hops, water and yeast.

You can pick up your printed edition of DIY Dog from our online shop here. This anthology of BrewDog is a more telling history of our company than anything else we can think of – all that we have learned over the years, documented along the way and ready to be explored. We hope it will encourage as many of you as possible to pick up a brewkit and begin adventures of your own.

Punk IPA Homebrew Kits

You can buy Punk IPA homebrew kits here

Speaking of which, returning to the online shop today are our Punk IPA homebrew kits! Created in conjunction with our friends at the Brooklyn Brew Shop, they are the ideal introduction for anyone wanting to begin that journey into homebrewing. Inside is all the key equipment needed to brew a batch of our flagship IPA at home, and with the kit being fully reusable, it’s a great chance to brew your first beer and then leaf through the DIY Dog book to see where your inspiration will take you.

And with that in mind, let us know in the comments which beer would be the first you’d have a go at brewing!

I managed a pretty authentic take on Jackhammer a couple of weeks ago but am thinking of upping the Amarillo Citra and Simcoe dry-hop to really see what they can do

Well I printed it all out but it is already falling to pieces, so I suppose I could pony up and get at least a professionally bound copy...
