ELECTRIC INDIA

ELECTRIC INDIA

There’s no escaping the fact that it seems like the year is speeding up. The pancake pan is only just back in the cupboard to gather dust, and yet here we are on the cusp of July already. But the calendar flicking over to another month isn’t always bad – for one thing, we are now firmly 'enjoying' the warming embrace of summer. And for another, it means that we are launching our third seasonal for 2016 – the perfect beer to pair with long, lazy evenings is back!

You can buy Electric India here

Electric India is a perfect hybrid – a meeting of two formative brewing worlds – embracing the spicy notes of a Belgian saison and combining with the punchy new world hops of an American IPA. Originally created by our legion of shareholders at an Equity Punk brewday in 2013 (stay tuned for the detail on this year’s Beatnik Brewing Collective), the key to this balancing act is the deployment of the hopload late in the kettle and then into the whirlpool as well.

This is done for one simple reason; to ensure that these layers of hop aroma are conveyed into the final beer, resulting in that trademark spicy, fruity edge of the European style and the orange and grapefruit citrus of the US favourite. As this is a BrewDog seasonal, we also ramp things up by the addition of crushed peppercorns and heather honey to give another pair of truly complementary flavours to this liquid soundtrack to your summer. Whatever the weather.

Electric India is live in our online shop right now and will be hitting our UK bars on draft from 6pm tonight, Thursday 30th June. If you get the chance to sample our summer seasonal, let us know in the comments below what you think!
