Time and Tide wait for no man, so the old saying goes. It doesn't mention whether they also wait for women - and fails to include horses entirely. As it turns out, when it comes to dark, roasty beer horsepower crushes both of these things. At BrewDog, we know full well that to sell a stout you need two things. Thunderous waves. And horses.

Our new Milk Stout, Jet Black Heart is out now

This smooth and roasty oatmeal milk stout won our 2015 Prototype Challenge at a canter, polling never less than 40% of the overall vote, at any stage. For a long time we have wanted to return a dark beer to our Headliner range – Jet Black Heart is that beer. A range of eight different malts have been unleashed in its creation, leading to a level of complexity seldom seen in other stouts.

Roasty coffee and chocolate lead to a decadent, full-bodied richness of near uncharted depths with a velvet mouthfeel from the addition of oatmeal and a touch of wheat. This is complemented at every turn by the Magnum and Sorachi Ace hops, with the latter bringing an intensity of smooth vanilla and dark berry fruit on the long, rewarding finish.

Jet Black Heart, as a true people’s champion, is available in bottles and also – in a first for BrewDog – will be available on Nitro in every one of our bars. This dispense method elevates the richness and the mouthfeel of a stout to a whole new level; the smaller tighter bubbles of gas rising slowly yielding a creamy head and an utterly smooth experience. If you thought you had tasted Nitro stout before – good things come to those who…well, you know the rest.

Jet Black Heart is out now in our online shop and will be launching in every UK BrewDog Bar at 6pm tonight, Thursday 11th February. We have wanted to brew a milk stout for some time – and ace a beer on Nitro for even longer. Three and a half years, to be precise. If you get a chance to try Jet Black Heart – especially on Nitro – let us know your thoughts in the comments below…

I finally get the point! Doh!! Our revenge on Diageo is brewing a better stout than Guinness (and maybe in time, taking some of its market share!).
Can't wait to try it on nitro - the prototype milk stout in bottle was pretty tasty!

I actually cried with laughter at that video!
Brilliantly done. Now you need to get a hacker to put it on the old TV adverts playlist in the Guinness storehouse in Dublin!
