THE BREWDOG MIXTAPE

THE BREWDOG MIXTAPE

Background music. We’ve all heard it. We all hate it. Anodyne sounds piped in, guaranteed to make your night fizzle out. At BrewDog we know how much of a difference incredible music can make when you visit a bar – so we are taking a stand, once and for all. Starting this month we are bringing the background into the foreground – and we have some amazing friends to help us out. This is the BrewDog Mixtape; a playlist curated exclusively for our BrewDog Bars.

And the first month’s Mixtape has been complied by none other than Franz Ferdinand.

Thursday nights at 6pm are typically when we launch a new beer (as tomorrow, when Punk x Funk hits the taps in our OverWorks showcase). But 6pm on Thursday February 21st is going to be different. Then the attention will be on what you are hearing every bit as much as what we are pouring. At that time, all of our UK BrewDog Bars will hit the play button in unison, and the first of our Mixtapes will sound out.

And we are psyched that the debut monthly playlist is going to be the brainchild of Franz Ferdinand – a band that surely need no introduction. With their fifth album, Always Ascending, having been released last year they have collated an incredible Mixtape that will be featured in our UK BrewDog Bars over the next month – alongside a selection of tracks from the guys themselves.

Once Franz Ferdinand’s Mixtape residency ends, their playlist will be made available for download so that you can listen to it at home, on the go or anywhere else you need the company of great music. They will then be followed by a playlist put together by another epic band. We have already queued up Mixtapes compiled by Glasgow’s finest The Fratellis, Reverend and the Makers and Charles Watson from Slow Club / The Surfing Magazines. How does that sound?

Every time you set foot in a BrewDog Bar we want nothing less than for you to have an amazing time – and the music you hear is every bit as important as the beer you drink, the booths you sit in and the food you eat. That is why we are working with these inspiring bands on our Mixtapes. We’ll be giving you a heads up on our social feeds before each hits the bars – so be sure and follow @BrewDog on Twitter for a sneak peek!

We are working with other artists we love on future Mixtapes – if there are any you’d love to hear in our bars, let us know in the comments which bands we should join forces with!
