BEER GEEK AWARDS CEREMONY – NEXT WEEK!

On Tuesday we are hosting a very special party. We are proud to call ourselves beer geeks as we believe taking a passionate interest in something can move it forward for everyone else. That is why we instigated the BrewDog Beer Geek Awards; to reward those that feel the same. The awards culminate in a Live Final taking place at BrewDog Shoreditch at 6:30pm on Tuesday 31st July. And we would love for you to be there.

Last week we filled you in on the men and women who will be running the rule over the entries – as well as invigilating the two remaining contests that are to be decided. But their main act will be to confer and select an overall European Beer Geek champion who will receive a trip to the epicentre of India Pale Ale in the US – San Diego. A few beer glasses will be gripped tightly when that announcement is made, no doubt.

Alongside giving out the rewards, our judges will be on hand to oversee the final round of the Beer Tasting Geek Award as the finest palates in the country step up and go tastebud to tastebud. The second contest crowning a victor live on stage will be the Beer Scholar Award as our finalists take on the toughest two minutes in beer – a quick-fire pub quiz on beer and brewing.

Whoever it is that is crowned Europe’s Biggest Beer Geek will be re-judged against their American equivalent (the US Live Final taking place the same night in Columbus Ohio) to determine the World’s Biggest Beer Geek.

Whichever of the two people it is who embraces craft beer culture the most, or in the most unique way, will also secure for themselves an additional $1,000/€1,000 alongside their Beer Geek Awards trophy and two amazing beer-related holidays. Being a geek really does have an upside.
