BREWDOG BEERS FOR 2018

BREWDOG BEERS FOR 2018

Equity for Punks V is now live! Click here to find out more about investing in BrewDog.

You know that we live or die based on the contents of your glass – and we know that you love to hear first-hand about the beers we are planning on releasing. As our beer calendar for 2018 is pretty much good to go, we figured there’s no point just pinning it to the brewhouse wall – we should get it out there so you can circle the things that interest you most.

So here it is, in black and white. How 2018 is set to shape up on Planet BrewDog.

2018 Headliners:

Punk IPA
Dead Pony Club
5AM Saint
Jet Black Heart Nitro
Indie Pale Ale

Our go-to pack-leaders are locked and loaded and we are psyched to unleash Jet Black Heart Nitro into the world very soon. Even sooner (as in, next week) we unveil a brand new Headliner to sit alongside. Kingpin lager tags out to become draft-only in our bars, and taking its place in our core range is a new rockstar – a pale ale for the 21st Century. At 4.2% Indie Pale Ale arrives on draft and in cans next week and is citrusy, sessionable and perfect for any drinking occasion.

2018 Amplified:

Elvis Juice
Jack Hammer
Native Son
Cocoa Psycho

This year, we are turning up the volume thanks to the mighty Elvis Juice, Jack Hammer and Cocoa Psycho. But they will also be joined by a full on, classically West Coast Double IPA. Native Son is the brainchild of our Head of Production Jason Pond and we loved it so much it has been elevated from small-batch release to proudly sit in our 2018 Amplified range. Available on draft and in cans from next month it is a powerhouse of resin, pine and gloriously dank American hops.

2018 Tuned:

Nanny State
Vagabond Gluten-Free

For this coming year we are going to continue to let these two brothers in arms rock and roll. Nanny State remains one of the most popular non-Headliners that we brew, and we can’t get enough of it out of the brewhouse doors. Vagabond returns as the other intense, hoppy brew that anyone can enjoy – just because a beer is gluten-free doesn’t mean it needs to be taste-free. Our Tuned twosome are firing on all cylinders in 2018.

2018 High Octane:

Dog G
Paradox
Tokyo*
Tactical Nuclear Penguin

For our collection of boundary-pushing brews we are furthering the renaissance of Tactical Nuclear Penguin, celebrating it in the new-look 110ml bottles. We are also continuing to raid the barrel store at regular intervals for our Paradox Series, the latest iteration of which celebrates the silent hero that is grain whisky. Tokyo* is also back for 2018 and we are eyeing up the next edition of our anniversary imperial stout to co-incide with our AGM – Dog G will be in the house in the spring.

2018 Seasonals:

Zeitgeist
Clockwork Tangerine
Electric India
Slot Machine

We are mere days away from the return of our idiosyncratic black lager Zeitgeist; our first seasonal of the year hits the shelves and online shop next week. Another returning champion is the soundtrack to your summertime Electric India – and we loved the wintertime spice of Slot Machine, so that is also back. The one change to our seasonals is the arrival of the Prototype Challenge champion, our new session-strength citrus IPA Clockwork Tangerine will be out in the spring.

2018 Wild Cards:

Overworks:

Yesterday saw another milestone for the BrewDog Overworks - the first filling of the mighty Italian foudres that are destined to be the starting point for our Brett-fermented saison, Instamatic. Richard Kilcullen and his dedicated team have hit the ground running in 2018 and are hard at work developing a range of mixed and wild fermented beers, with the Spanish Rioja barrels also being filled and the Overworks' own bottling line installed and ready to go. This year is set to be a banner year for lovers of mixed culture sour beers.

Experimental Hop Series:

The incredible men and women who cultivate our hops are truly unsung heroes of the brewing world. Our team love nothing more than putting their hard work to the test so in 2018 we are bringing back our IPA is Dead concept, but with a twist. It will feature only experimental hops, new varieties, brand new hopping techniques – untested, cutting edge and truly out there. Yet to be officially named, these draft and canned beers will be very much worth waiting for.

Collaborations:

Joining forces with leading craft brewers is something we love – and despite amazing brewdays with the likes of Cloudwater, Omnipollo and Beavertown last year we wanted to do so much more. So in 2018, we are. We have TEN collabs in the pipeline with leading European craft breweries; and Equity Punks, check the blog next week for a very special way in which you can be involved. We are kicking off with the pride of Italy, Birrificio Italiano – check back very soon for more.

We will also be continuing to rock the Abstrakt series and are looking at more single-cask barrel aged releases for our bars in 2018. #ReBrewDog will continue to see favourites from our archives return and we are following up with more Hazy Jane around Easter. Also – because why in the hell not – we are going to launch Rip Tide Nitro. Oh yes.

Phew, I thought Hazy Jane had departed! Easily one of your best beers ever and the NEIPA range could be expanded.
Adam 16.01.2018 @ 12:21pm
Gutted to see Hardcore missing from the list here. Presumably you'll still be brewing it for Tesco under the Mr President banner.
Neil 07.01.2018 @ 10:02pm
Please
Collaborate with The Lost Abbey again!!

Libertine should definitely have a permanent place. It's Brewdog's best beer in my opinion.
anonymous 06.01.2018 @ 8:00am
Bring Back a classic headliner - Hardcore IPA, it was epic, I and a few of my friends miss it.
Rob 05.01.2018 @ 9:55pm

Paulformerlyleicestercurrentlymelbourne 05.01.2018 @ 9:45pm

Looking forward to Native Son, but I really miss Hardcore...
Jones 05.01.2018 @ 6:50pm
Please make a sh*t-ton of Hazy Jane so I can swim in it! Big up ya chest.
Andy Hawkes 05.01.2018 @ 6:19pm
Bring back Libertine (properly) - you briefly made Black Hammer as an option for those who like black beers that aren't Zeitgeist or stouts, which has also faded into distant memory!
Sean M 05.01.2018 @ 6:07pm
Have to admit to being new to craft ales and brewdog but diving straight in as EFP and getting my hands on everything I can find to try and develop my tastes . All these sound great and have got me very excitied for the year ahead and my ever developing tastes....will there be prototypes to add to this as well?
Richard P 05.01.2018 @ 5:40pm
Happy to try anything new. Drink all the beers!????

Alan E 05.01.2018 @ 4:01pm
Plus an extra post to say how much I am looking forward to the Overworks Sours ... 2018 is looking really solid...
Alan E 05.01.2018 @ 3:59pm
100% approval from this Equity Punk. A headliner IPA to replace Kingpin works well for me, as does the DIPA and Native Son and Clockwork Tangerine.... never a fan of Pumpkin King, so roll on the return of RBIC and continuation of Electric India and Slot Machine.

Currently loving the return of Albino Squid Assassin, so hope that returns as often as possible, and pining as always for the return of Clown King one of these days...

All in all, very happy reacing all of the above...
Aaron 05.01.2018 @ 3:55pm
No Libertine? The world needs that beer :-(
Paul 05.01.2018 @ 2:28pm
I loved the trial version of Jet Black Heart nitro so to see it a full time beer is brilliant
Ronja 05.01.2018 @ 2:24pm
Oh how I miss Neon Overlord :(
sky_walker71 05.01.2018 @ 2:08pm
Nanny State best low alcohol beer around - Super TUNED
Mike Green 05.01.2018 @ 1:44pm
Really awesome to see Jet Black Heart Nitro cans! Sad to see Pumpkin King missing again.
Chris Ackland 05.01.2018 @ 1:25pm
Looks like it’s gonna be another exciting year of awesome beer
Fi 05.01.2018 @ 1:17pm
Would really appreciate a dose of Pumpkin King around Halloween again.... pretty please.
BrewDog Rich 05.01.2018 @ 12:58pm
Hop Fiction may be gone (for now) but it isn't forgotten - and lovers of pale hoppy beers have Indie Pale Ale, Native Son, Deck Ape as brand new entrants PLUS a series of hop-forward IPAs in our Experimental Series. Don't worry you'll have plenty to stock your beer cupboards with! ;)
Karl Atkinson 05.01.2018 @ 12:45pm
Some great beers here and generally very happy with this selection. However sad to not see Hop Fiction or the return of Born to Die
EFP Graeme 05.01.2018 @ 12:43pm
What... No Hop Fiction in 2018? Sad times....
Dennis W 05.01.2018 @ 12:25pm
That Native Son sounds amazeballs. Wanna order a bunch right now!
AliW 05.01.2018 @ 12:16pm
I'm concerned by the lack of mention of Hop Fiction. Happy to see Hazy Jane will be returning.
Ronan 05.01.2018 @ 12:14pm
No more Hop Fiction or Hazy Jane? This makes me sad.
EFPJay 05.01.2018 @ 12:13pm
Hop Fiction...Noooooooo!

Excited to see the return of IPA is Dead.
Fraguk 05.01.2018 @ 12:11pm
Is there any chance that you might, one day, stock TNP in the original size bottles?
MartinW 05.01.2018 @ 11:07am
I can't wait for the overworks sours to arrive
HopAddict 05.01.2018 @ 10:54am
