BrewDog at Salone Del Gusto
Slow Food’s Salone Del Gusto is one of the biggest food and drink festivals in the world. Happening once every two years, it brings over 900 food and drink producers from 130 countries to the grungy city of Torino, nestled at the foot of the Alps.
Invited by our rock star Italian distributors, BrewDog dominated the taps at the best of British bar, much to the delight of our Italian fans. One of our newest Brewpups, Zarah, was there to document the action:
There are some phenomenal things happening in the Italian beer scene at the moment, and strolling around the stalls I was humbled to be approached by fledgling Italian brewers keen to show off beers inspired by BrewDog.
By the end of the four days BrewDog tattoos featured on the arms, necks and even foreheads of some of Italy’s best emerging brewers, painting an incredible scene of cross cultural beer fusion in the crowded halls of the Lingotto Fiere.
BrewDog was sought out by many, with the Presidents of Slow Food Switzerland requesting two bottles of the Abstrakt AB:11, which they savoured on the job.
One of the heavy weights of the Italian craft beer scene is Birra Del Borgo, and it was with great excitement that I got to taste the collaborative beer we’ve done with them, the ‘ReAle in Kilt’.
A Scottish-inspired peated version of their classic ReAle, this beautiful progeny of the marriage between Birra Del Borgo and BrewDog is not to be missed! Catch it in our bars and on our online store next month.
