JACK HAMMER IS HERE

JACK HAMMER IS HERE

Rewind time back five years, when Jack Hammer was a popular contender as one of our Prototypes. It was a simpler time, a tamer time. Nothing’s been the same the devastatingly bitter beer known as Jack Hammer drilled its way straight through taste buds in 2012.

Despite losing out to Cocoa Psycho by a mere 3.34% in the voting process, this runner-up pulled a Kelly Clarkson and paved its own path to glory. It’s since become one of the most popular Amplified beers in our UK range.

If you were a fan of Elvis Juice for the tart citrus, this is the bitter ex-wife packing enough pithy grapefruit bitterness to shatter the taste buds of mere mortals. This is a beer for the devoted craft beer fan.

Last weekend, we launched the first batch of Ohio-brewed Jack Hammer into the Ohio market.

So what makes this beer so special? Jack Hammer is loaded with so many hops that, given the chance, this 7.2% IPA would destroy your mouth with it's 200 theoretical IBUs. Be warned: this is the most bitter beer we have ever brewed (well, in Ohio. There was that time we brewed a ‘restorative beverage’ of sorts in the UK.)

This scene stealer has also inspired a separate series, one that exists to showcase the flavor changes a single twist in a recipe can yield. They all started down the same path that would eventually lead to our ruthless IPA Jack Hammer, before a lone addition or tweak was adopted. After having changed the yeast to create Monk Hammer, the malt bill was then tweaked to create a second pile driver, Black Hammer.

Feeling brave? Head out to your local bar or shop and give Jack Hammer a go. But don't say we didn't warn you.
